Cultivation tips: The native horse chestnut will grow on most moist fertile soils in all but the most exposed locations and will quickly become a large deciduous tree. It is best grown in full sun as a specimen, often out growing and shading out the average urban garden. Conkers come as a bonus but can be difficult to collect and compost.
