However its real knock out feature is the impact of autumn foliage, which linger late into the season, developing from warm yellows and oranges on to fire red.
Cultivation tips: This rounded deciduous tree can get to a good size and requires space for lower branches which can spread outward, so allow it plenty of space to grow ideally within open grassland. Nyssa likes the rare combination of a moist acid soil, growing best in a sheltered location in full sun to part shade. Grows to over 12m by 10m plus.
