Attractive evergreen glossy dark green distinctive longer strap shaped leaves. Scented pinky / white flowers provide interest from December to March, followed by black berries in winter.
Cultivation tips: Sarcocca is a hardy shrub that flourishes on free draining fertile soils (including chalk and clay), but prefers a moisture retentive yet free draining soil with plenty of humus. This evergreen is suitable for planting under shade - making it ideal for woodland planting and useful for problem shady areas where it will knit together and form a dense ground cover. This variety is commonly planted as it more vigorous and thus faster to establish than other slow growing varieties. Water occasionally if very dry - mulch on poor soils. No need to prune but trim to shape. Height and spread up to 1 metre
